MOTION NO. 4
MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"That the Manager requests Dun Laoghaire Rathdown to address the serious noise pollution and anti-social behaviour problems associated with the MCD Promotions Concerts series in Marlay Park."
REPORT:
The Principal Environmental Health Officer has reported that he is in close liaison with his counterpart in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council in relation to outdoor events and concerts in Marley Park, in the build up to these events. He also reports that very specialist noise monitoring is in place both inside the park and at specified and agreed residential areas surrounding Marley Park. He further stated that he is willing to discuss with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, a realignment of the current monitoring programme into nearby estates in the South Dublin County area if specific details of complaints are available. During the past five years over which these concerts have been held, the Environmental Health Department of South Dublin County Council has not received any complaints regarding noise. In relation to anti-social behaviour complaints, South Dublin County Council will take the matter up with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council if specific details are available.
