COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

QUESTION NO. 27
QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
“To ask the Manager at what stage is the development of the Manortown United football clubhouse at Perrystown Community Centre?"
REPLY:
Manortown United were successful in acquiring Sports Capital funding for a clubhouse adjacent to the Community Centre through their own direct application.
The Centre is subject to a management licence from the Council who has title. To acquire the sports capital funding it is now a requirement on the club to enter into a Deed of Covenant and as it is in the ownership of South Dublin County Council it is the Council who will have to enter into the Deed of Covenant. This matter is being dealt with by the Council’ Development and Law Departments and progress has been made to meet the requirement of entering into the Deed of Covenant. The Club have also been advised of the need to apply to Council for a building licence before commencing work on site.
It is understood that the Chief State Solicitors Office are faced with a backlog of such matters but have now reverted with a number of queries (31st October 2008) which will be considered and responded to.
