MOTION NO. 13

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That this committee discusses (with the aid of an up to date report) the redevelopment of the community centre at Ballyroan and the taking in charge of same by SDCC and  also the construction of the new Pastoral Centre adjacent at Church of the Holy Spirit Ballyroan (a) to ensure that the issues raised are addressed e.g. re the specifications of the kitchen to accommodate meals on wheels who currently do a great job in the local community, (b) the location of the wheelchair ramp access to the Church; (c) and also the placing of the anniversary tree; and any issues arising as a result of the part 8 consultation process and that priority be given to this project."

REPORT:

Architects Department are currently finalising specifications / cost plans with intention of going to tender as soon as possible.

All matters mentioned above will be addressed by Project Architect taking into account where agreed the needs and requirements of facilities and users which have been discussed during many project meetings.

Contact is ongoing with St Laurence O’Toole Trust regarding the Pastoral Centre and the handover of the Community Centre to South Dublin County Council ownership.
