QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor C. Brophy
"To ask the Manager to carry out repair works to the water shore drains in Orwell Park Glade. These shores have been blocked for many years and during periods of heavy rain flooding results due to the shores inability to handle the water. Residents believe the shores may be blocked by tree roots which have never been dealt with by the Council?"
REPLY:
The gullies in Orwell Park Glade are regularly cleaned by the Cleansing Section as part of the maintenance schedule being operated by Oxigen Ltd. The drainage in the area will be inspected and if tree roots are identified as a problem, Parks Department will be requested to remove the offending tree.
