QUESTION: Councillor T. McDermott
To ask the Manager for a report that indicates the number of applicants on the housing list by Committee Area, the average time on the list, the number of applicants who have been on the list for 0 to 1 year, for 1 to 2 years, for 2 to 3 years and who have been on the list for more than 3 years. Would he also report on the number and length of time spend on the list by applicants who have been allocated houses in 2006, 2007 and 2008?
REPLY:
At present there are 5,563 applicants on the Council’s Housing List, the average time on the list is 5 years . However in accordance with The Scheme of Letting Priorities the Council's Medical Refree and/or Senior Social Worker deal with priority cases as a matter of urgency . The breakdown of housing applicants by Committee Area is as follows, please note there are 856 applicants applying from outside the functional are of South Dublin County Council
