QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

 

"To ask the Manager to indicate by way of a map any sites that have been zoned or earmarked for the provision/construction of schools in the Tallaght South area with particular emphasis on developing areas such as Citywest and Ballycullen?"

REPLY:

Sites reserved for Primary Schools in the Tallaght South Area- (To be read in conjunction with attached map)

1. Rathcoole; Site adjoining Beechwood /Coolamber reserved as part of Rathcoole Local Area Plan, April 2002

2. Saggart; Site reserved within lands forming Saggart Action Area Plan 2000

3. Variation No. 2 Specific Local Objective 124, adopted November 2006 states;

   Development on the lands at Fortunestown Lane and Garters Lane, Saggart, will be in accordance with the following:

 (a) Be subject to a micro Local Area Plan;

 (b) Planning permission for development in accordance with an approved area plan will not be issued until such time as the construction of the LUAS extension to Citywest / Saggart  has commenced;

 (c) Not less than 20 acres of land to be reserved at this location for community facilities incorporating all weather pitches, community buildings, school site, a park and ride facility and other uses that will significantly benefit the community that may be identified through the Local Area Plan consultation process, 

4. Fortunestown; Site reserved as part of Planning Permission SD03A/0857 for phased integrated mixed-use retail/commercial and residential development. Reserved site located along Citywest Road.

5. Ballycullen; Site reserved under Ballycullen Action Area Plan 2000.
