REPORT ON PUBLIC CONSULTATION PROCEDURES UNDER PART 8 OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001 - Neilstown Community Centre Incorporating the Neilstown Boxing Club, Neilstown, Dublin 22

At a meeting of the Lucan Clondalkin Area Committee (1) held on 22nd April 2008 it was agreed to proceed with a public consultation process for the proposed refurbishment of the Community Centre and new Boxing Club at Neilstown, Clondalkin, Dublin 22. Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 prescribes the requirements in respect of certain classes of proposed Local Authority Developments. The Regulations apply to the proposed works involved in the proposed refurbishment of the Community Centre and new Boxing Club at Neilstown. The proposed works entail the extension and refurbishment of existing facility to also provide for Neilstown Boxing Club and ancillary landscaping which will include the following accommodation: Ground floor extension of 390sqM providing Boxing Club with separate entrance area and changing facilities. First floor extension providing a new Multi Purpose room and storage. Redesign of existing first floor accommodation to provide an office, meeting room and multi purpose room Ancillary Landscaping CONSULTATION PROCESS: The above proposed works were advertised in accordance with Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, in the Irish Independent on Monday 14th July, 2008. The scheme went on public display from Monday 14th July, 2008 to Monday 26th August, 2008 at: · The offices of South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, · The offices of South Dublin County Council, Clondalkin The closing date for receipt of submissions was Monday 8th September, 2008. There were no submissions made during this period. As the proposed works are consistent with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area and the South Dublin County Development Plan 2004 – 2010, it is recommended to proceed with the proposed works as advertised and subject to the identification and sourcing of the necessary balance of funding for the project.
