A meeting of the Environment SPC was held on the 3rd September 2008 and the following matters were discussed.

1. Minutes of Meeting of the 7th May 2008 
Agreed.
2. Matters Arising 
No matters arising
3. Water Framework Directive (Eastern River Basin Management Plan)
A presentation was made on the up to date position regarding the Eastern River Basin Managment Plan by E. McDonald.  The members noted the contents of the presentation.
4. Climate Change Strategy
An updated report was given on the proposed Climate Change Strategy for the County and a presentation was made by G Wardell from Codema.  The report set out a time table for the development of the strategy.  It   was noted that the final strategy document would be presented to the February 09 meeting of the SPC following a public consultation process.
5. Dublin Agglomeration Draft Noise Action Plan
A presentation was made on the details contained in the draft action plan.  It was noted that the plan will be a strategic plan which will cover noise from traffic, rail and aircraft.  It will exclude noise from domestic activities.  Notice of the making of the draft plan was published on 18th July 2008 and the latest date for receipt of submissions was 12th September 2008.
6. Dumping in the Dublin Mountains - update
A verbal report was given to the members in relation to this matter.  Further reports will be presented to the Committee at forthcoming meeting.
7. AOB
Members raised the issue of the IBAL survey particularly in relation to Tallaght.  It was agreed that a further report would be presented to the next meeting of the Committee
