QUESTION NO 1.

QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

To ask the Manager to give a breakdown of funding provided by Central Government and funding provided by South Dublin County Council towards the delivery of swimming pools to date in the county?

REPLY:

To date South Dublin County has two Sports and Leisure Centres incorporating Swimming Pools namely Tallaght Leisure Centre (TLC) and Clondalkin Leisure Centre.

Tallaght Leisure Centre was constructed at a total cost of €19,397,100 with a grant allocation of €4,888,400 with the balance to be funded from Community Levies and land disposal.

Clondalkin Leisure Centre was constructed at a total cost of €15,163,700 with a grant allocation of €3,835,500 with the balance to be funded form Community Levies and land disposal.

In addition the Council makes an annual contribution towards the running costs of the Swimming Pool at Tallaght Community School Balrothery which in 2008 is €60,000.
