QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor C. Brophy
"To ask the Manager to include Wainsfort Manor for traffic calming as there are a large number of families with young childern who are placed at risk due to speeding cars?"
REPLY:
In response to a large number of requests for traffic calming measures throughout the Council’s administrative area the Council’s Transportation Strategic Policy Committee at its meeting on the 11th May 2006 adopted a new Traffic Calming programme comprising of four schemes in each of the Council’s five electoral areas. The selection of each individual scheme will be made by the relevant Area Committee from the Traffic Calming Request List.
Wainsfort Manor Drive is on the traffic calming request list for the Terenure/Rathfarnham electoral area.
In relation to Wainsfort Manor it would be of assistance if the local residents submitted a petition to the Roads Department identifying the traffic problems on their road and requesting the Council to provide appropriate traffic calming measures.
The Terenure/Rathfarnham Area Committee will be appraised of all information received.
