QUESTION NO. 3

QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

To ask the manager in view of the increased traffic using  the new outer ring   road and the added environmental noise pollution effecting residents in Raheen, Kilclare, Whitebrook, Rossfield , Drumcairn, and  Kilmartin Estates and  will he outline what short  and long term proposals he proposes to introduce reduce and eliminate this unwelcome intrusion on residents and  the local environment?

REPLY:

The matters raised in the question were dealt with as part of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) submitted to An Bord Pleanala when approval for the scheme was sought. The conditions imposed by the Bord in their approval for the scheme included noise mitigation measures such as low noise sufacing and boundary walls and these matters are included in the contract. The EIS is available on the Council's website.
