QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor M. Ardagh
"To ask the Manager to install public lighting in the pedestrian laneway in Brookvale, Rathfarnham as the laneway which is used constantly by residents is also being used for dumping and anti-social behaviour?"
REPLY:
It is not the intention of the Public Lighting Section to provide public lighting in the laneway in Brookvale, Rathfarnham for the following reason:
The cost of provision of a lighting column and cable network to this column is prohibitive. A special column type i.e. a raising/lowering column would also be required for maintenance and this column is also more expensive than the normal 6m octagonal column.
