QUESTION NO. 23

QUESTION: Councillor C. Brophy

"To ask the Manager what is the Council policy in relation to the moving of bollards to facilitate a planning application for Springfield House, specifically, did the Council provide any indication in advance that it was willing to move the bollards involved in this planning application to facilitate this development?"

REPLY:

Planning application SD08A/0586 was received on 20/08/2008 from Raymond A & Jane Frost , Springfield Road for the following proposal at Springfield House, Springfield Road, Terenure, Dublin 6W.

Proposed Development:-(a) The demolition of their existing dwelling; (b) construction on its site of 1 no. detached and 2 no. semi-detached two storey dwellings over part basements and with part attic stores - the detached houses to have a clerestory type window to the rear of the attic storey and the semi detached to have velux type roof lights to the front; (c) reuse the existing vehicular entrance and provide two additional vehicular entrances to provide 2 no. car parking spaces per dwelling and to avail of existing public drainage and water services; (d) provide a new public footpath within the curtilege of the site. The development would require the relocation of exiting Council traffic bollards 17m southwards.

A decision in respect of this application is due by 14/10/2008.

The Planning Department has consulted the Roads and Transportation Department in respect of this application and the report of that department will be considered prior to a decision in respect of this application.
