QUESTION: Councillor C. King

To ask the Manager, to provide a report on the reasons why CARP in Killinarden are waiting since 2003 for the receipt of their management licence taking into account the hugely important role this orgainisation plays in the area?

REPLY:

The Council issued terms for a licence agreement to CARP on 26-1-06. In the interim period various queries have been raised by CARP and its Solicitors in relation to some of the terms and revised drafts of the licence have passed between the Council's Solicitor and CARP's Solicitor. The current draft together with a number of queries raised by CARP's Solicitor is being reviewed by Development Department  in conjunction with Law Department. It is hoped that the matter can be finalised in the near future.

The Council is also awaiting submission of a Deed of Charge from the HSE in this matter, relating to the funding of the premises.
