SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (2)

MOTION NO. 3
MOTION: Councillor C. King
"That this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the feasability of providing driveways for the residents of 45-60 Fettercairn Road as their cars are constantly being vandalised out on the main Road".
REPORT:
These houses have been recently constructed by the Council's Housing Department under the supervision of the Council's Architectural Services Department. It is understood that the design of the scheme was particularly chosen to create the feel of a sub-urban village and the provision of roadside parking was an integral element of the scheme. It is also understood that since the introduction of the Residential Density Guidelines nationally by the Department of Environment Heritage and Local Government that it has been Council policy not to provide offstreet carparking as a matter of course in these schemes.
It is considered that any request to provide off road parking should be referred to both of the above noted departments for examination in the first instance.
