COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (2)

MOTION NO. 5
MOTION: Councillor C. King
"That this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the possibility of providing some form of pedestrian crossing from the bus stop outside the shell garage on the Old Blessington Road/N81 to the north side of the road to facilitate residents of Deselby and The Belfry Estates crossing this busy road to their homes when finishing their bus journey as there is no safe point to cross".
REPORT:
Following on from our recent site inspection of this location with the NRA Inspector, we are currently in the process of submitting an application to the NRA for funding under the 2009 Low Cost Safety Improvement Scheme to provide pedestrian crossing facilities as requested. We expect to have a decision on our application by the end of 2008, at which time we shall submit a further report.
