With reference to the Public Order Incident in *details supplied on the 17th of May  2008, which was discussed 'in committee' at the June meeting, the Garda investigation is continuing in this matter.

Enquiries are being conducted, a number of suspects have been identified and it is expected that arrests will be made in course.  As a consequence, I do not believe it is appropriate to elaborate further on this particular incident until all court proceedings have been concluded.

Notwithstanding this, a policing plan is presently in operation for this Estate.  This Policing Plan is under constant review.   The policing plan incorporates a number of objectives i.e. to identify all culprits involved in criminal damage, drug dealing and anti social behaviour, the prosecution of offenders for these matters and gathering intelligence. Contact has also been made with local residents in order to improve communications.
