MOTION NO 4.

MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Manager draw up a regular maintenance rota for the maintenance of the green area in Delaford, Knocklyon to include additional tree planting, regular grass cutting and trimming of the hedgerows within the estate and in particular at its boundary with the Knocklyon Road."

REPORT:

The Parks Department maintenance rota for the open space in Delafort, Knocklyon consists of the following:

Tree Planting:

The location will be inspected and considered for planting as part of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.

Grass Cutting:

The grass is cut as part of the grass-cutting programme.

During the grass cutting season the area is cut as frequently as possible, which varies from 12 to 18 days depending on weather conditions, staff availability, machinery breakdown etc. 

Boundary hedgerows:

The boundary hedgerows will be inspected and considered for cutting back as part of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.
