MOTION NO. 16
MOTION: Councillor D. Keating
That this Council acknowledges the serious disruption caused to the Residents of this County owing to the loss of the Circle Line Bus Service. In addition South Dublin County Council believes that many of our transport issues would be resolved at relatively low costs, if a flexible, dependable and affordable bus service was introduced. This Council now requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Transport calling on him to respond as a matter of great urgency to the public transport needs of the people of this county
REPORT:
This Council has at all times recognised the need for an increase in the availability and an improvement in the delivery of public transport in the County. The bus service, both public and private, is the key to an improved public transport sector in the short to medium term and the Transportation Strategic Policy Committee has advised to this effect on numerous occasions.
If the Members support a motion, as set out by the Councillor, the necessary letter will be sent to the Minister for Transport.
