MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney
That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide a detailed report on discussions between this Council and the contractor/developer and the N.R.A. in relation to new Tallaght By-Pass bridge and its Taking-in-Charge. Furthermore, the provision of a time-table to rectify the outstanding works at the entrance to St. Dominics N.S. and St. Colmcilles.
REPORT:
Following receipt of the formal request to take the bridge structure in charge, a number of discussions have taken place between the Council's Roads Department , the NRA and the Developers / Builders / Designers of the bridge structure with a view to agreeing the details of the taking in charge process including the documentation to be submitted to enable the process to be advanced. The Council also carried out a number of preliminary inspections and following these discussions and inspections, the Council has indicated that it will be necessary for it to commisssion an audit / report from a Consulting Engineer in relation to the bridge and related Taking in Charge matters, when the required documentation is received.
Following the discussions and inspections outlined earlier, it has been clarified that the access arrangements to the school will be dealt with by the Planning Department as a compliance submission under the approved planning permission. The exact ownership boundaries have also been clarified.
