QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville

To ask the Manager to outline the total amount received by this Local Authority in Development Contributions since the scheme was introduced in 2004, the amount for each individual year since 2004, the amount per residential unit and the projected amount for 2008?

REPLY:

The total amount received in development contributions since the Development ContributioScheme was introduced in 2004 up to the 31^st May 2008 is €92m.

The total amount of development contributions received for each year is as follows:

2004                                 €2,166,410.92

2005                                €14,671,759.25

2006                                €29,598,408.36

2007                                €33,632,389.87

2008                                €12,295592 to 31^st May  , 2008    

The rate of Development Contribution assessed in respect of grants of permission per Residential Unit was as follows:

The 2008 Budget estimated that an amount of €35m will be collected in development contributions in the year 2008.
