COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE (1)

QUESTION NO. 1
MOTION: Councillor M. Ardagh
"To ask Manager to report on the provision of a Pedestrian Crossing on Wainsfort Road adjacent to the Templeville roundabout to enable the many elderly residents and school going children in the area cross the road in safety."
REPLY:
A traffic survey was carried out during May 2007 and a pedestrian warrant was not reached as the number of pedestrians observed was very low. Unless a significant change, above normal growth in traffic or compelling, extenuating circumstances were to occur, a traffic and pedestrian count warrant could not be reached so a crossing could not be recommended at this time.
