MOTION: Councillor M. Ardagh

"To ask the Manager to report on the provision of Traffic Lights at the junction of Whitehall Road and Whitehall Road West adjacent to Whitehall Close and to state when these traffic lights will be installed."

REPLY:

Traffic signals are not recommended at the junction of Whitehall Road and Whitehall Road West. As pedestrian signals are provided on Whitehall Road near Whitehall Road West the main consideration is, therefore, the proximity of the small roundabout at Templeville Road. It is anticipated that further queuing would result in traffic stopping on the roundabout and deterioration in it's operation.
