MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy

"That the Manager provide an additional level crossing on Taylors Lane at Pearse Park, or move an existing one, to facilitate local residents who can no longer cross the road without risk to themselves and their children."

REPORT:

In designing the new alignment of Taylor’s Lane between Ballyboden Road and Whitechurch Road, an adequate number of signalised pedestrian crossings at appropriate intervals was provided to accommodate local needs.

With regard to the bus stop opposite Pearse Brothers Park and with a view to encouraging residents to use the nearest pedestrian facility provided, the bus stop is being moved closer to the crossing for the convenience of all local residents.
