SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)
Monday, May 19, 2008
MOTION NO. 6
MOTION: Councillor C. Jones
This Committee calls the erection of signs in the vicinity of the Holy Rosary and other schools to warn owners against their dog’s littering. This Committee further calls for bins to facilitate dog owners in disposing of the litter.
REPORT:
The Litter Warden for the area has been requested to examine the location referred to with a view to arranging for the installation of appropriate signage in the vicinity of the school as necessary. Requests for other specific areas will considered as received.
It is incumbent upon dog owners to responsibly dispose of dog litter. In practice this usually results in disposal in on-street litter bins or domestic bins. The provision of dog litter bins is being investigated.
