MOTION NO 11.

MOTION: Councillor C. King

"That this Committee calls on the Housing Manager to report in detail what progress has been made in relation to the re-development of the NABCO owned Community facility on Donomore Park in to Housing units and can he/she make a statement on the matter".

REPORT:

At the Tallaght Area Committee Meeting held in January, the following report was submitted in response to the Motion on the NABCO Facility at Donomore Park

“The Community Services Department’s Community Field Staff assist the Management Committees of Community Facilities to address difficulties/concerns that they may have. 

NABCO Housing Association has not been in contact with the Community Department.  However the Community Team will meet with NABCO at their request to discuss any difficulties they may have with the management of the facility in Donomore Park, Killinarden”.

Following the above a member of the Community Services Department Field Staff met with representatives of NABCO who stated that they intended to apply for change of use, of the facility from Community type facility to housing units.

The primary reason for this proposed change of use was reported to be problems created by anti –social behaviour.

NABCO are experiencing some difficulties with Planning Department with regard to the planning procedures.

Community Department are currently in process of arranging a meeting between NABCO and Planning Dept with a view to assisting in resolving these difficulties.
