QUESTION NO 16.
QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren
“To ask the Manager if the public open space at Monalea Grove, Monalea Woods and Woodlawn Park, up to and including Scoil Treasa, can be cut on a regular basis, and tidied around the edges so that this area can be used for recreational purposes and particularly for children who want to play football at this location, if this can now be included on the rota, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”
REPLY:
The open space at Monalea Grove, Monalea Woods and Woodlawn Park, up to and including Scoil Treasa is cut by the Parks Department as part of the grass cutting programme.
During the grass cutting season the area is cut as frequently as possible, which varies from 12 to 18 days between cuts depending on weather conditions, staff availability, machinery breakdown etc.
The planting along the edges of this location will be inspected and any necessary pruning works will be considered as part of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.
