QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

"To ask the Manager to report on the location and extent of hazardous waste sites within the Committee's area, and can he indicate what action, if any, is being taken to deal with the problem?"

REPLY:

A report was presented to the May meeting of the Environment Strategic Policy Committee dealing with the issue of illegal and unauthorised waste disposal sites within South Dublin County, in particular in the region of the Dublin Mountains.  While compiling this report it has been necessary to review all known waste disposal sites within the County.  No hazardous waste disposal sites have been identified in the County through that review.
