MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott

"That the Manager presents a report of the buildings / residences and the number of residents in Terenure / Rathfarnham that do not currently have a Green Bin service with an explanation for why this situation arises and if and when they will be provided for this service."

REPORT:

As far as the Environmental Services Department is aware, based on reporting arrangements with Oxigen Ltd. who are contracted to provide the green bin service, this service has been rolled out to all households in Terenure/Rathfarnham that receive a grey bin collection from the Council.  Additionally, any households that receive their refuse collection service from a private contractor must also be provided with a collection service for dry recyclables by their contractor.

If there are any householders that the Members are aware of that are not in receipt of a green bin collection service, these should be referred to the Environmental Services Department for investigation and we will look to rectify this forthwith.
