QUESTION: Councillor M. Ardagh

"To ask the Manager when the Rathmines/Pembroke Sewer will be extended to Whitehall Road?"

REPLY:

The extension of the Rathmines/Pembroke sewer to Whitehall Road was included in the Assessment of Needs 2007-2014 which was submitted to the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government in 2006.

The Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government has not as yet indicated if they will approve the scheme.  However, other measures have been implemented to relieve the pressure on the Whitehall Road sewer and further measures are planned.
