MOTION NO. 11

MOTION: Councillor M. Ardagh

"That the Manager consider providing cameras at graffiti black spots in the Terenure/Rathfarnham Area, which would deter those engaging in this type of anti-social behaviour."

REPORT:

The objectives of the draft Litter Management Plan, being considered by the Environment SPC at present, provide for the development of a programme that will target specific litter types, of which graffitti will be one. Part of this process will be the identification of particular problem locations and the appropriate response for the local circumstances. Should cctv be identified as the appropriate response then installation will be considered. Installation of cctv will be considered in consultation with An Garda Siochana and in the context of the Dept of Justice cctv initiative.
