MOTION NO 5.

MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney

That this Committee supports the establishment of a National Archery Range in Tallaght,, and urges the Parks Dept.,to assist the Greenhills Archery Club in their proposal to develop this facility.

REPORT:

The Parks Department recently met with representatives of Greenhills Archery Club to discuss the identification of a possible site to locate a National Archery Range.   The area required for such a facility is in the region of 1.5 hectares which is equivalent to two full sized soccer pitches.

The Parks Department are currently examining possible suitable locations for an archery facility having regard to the requirements of the club as well as the requirements of the Council in relation to the safety and welfare of park users.
