QUESTION NO. 14
QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane
"To ask the Manager for an up to date report on the Recycling Bank at Grange Road and if a response has been received from the OPW re location to adjacent park area as I was advised when I raised this issue some considerable time ago. Also to outline plans for an upgrade of the site of the bring bank taking into consideration that previous plans were not agreed by local residents?"
REPLY:
The Council has taken positive action with regard to bring banks in the County and CCTV has been installed at bring bank sites to reduce negative use. A number of fines have been issued and Grange Road site has yielded the first positive result in court with evidence obtained from the CCTV. In recent days a fine of €500 was issued with costs of €500.
Discussions with the OPW are ongoing regarding relocating bring banks into the adjacent park. Members will be notified as soon as there is an outcome. The concerns of the Members and local residents are at all times borne in mind.
