SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE (2)

QUESTION NO 5.
QUESTION: Councillor M. Ardagh
"To ask the Manager for an update on the repair and/or realignment of the boundary fence between Wainsfort Manor Crescent and Kimmage Manor?"
REPLY:
The open space adjacent the river between Wainsfort Manor Crescent and Kimmage Manor contains an existing railing and pedestrian gate. The pedestrian gate is opened for times of church services and locked afterwards by the church.
The Parks Department was contacted by a local resident requesting that a section of low railing above the weir immediately adjacent the river be raised in height with the propose of preventing access by persons to and from Wainsfort Manor Crescent and Kimmage Manor when the pedestrian gate is locked.
Environmental Services Department has been advised that it would not be appropriate to raise the railing height at the point in question in the interests of public safety.
This recommendation has been discussed with the local resident and it is agreed that the existing railing be retained as is and the location monitored.
