MOTION NO. 12
MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"That the Roads Department carry out a detailed assessment of the boundary treatment requirements of Cremorne Estate in Knocklyon in the context of the Re-Alignment of the Knocklyon Road, including a report on requests made for treatment as part of the Part 8 Process and to outline what boundary treatment measures will be employed to combat noise and to enhance the aesthetic look of the estate in line withh the proposals for Lansdowne and Coolamber."
REPORT:
The boundary treatments associated with this road scheme are as indicated in the attached drawings.
It should be noted that the proposed Knocklyon road scheme boundary treatment reflects the situation that existed before the scheme was developed. The primary reason for the different boundary treatments being used by different developers along the route stems from the individual developers own design strategy and the individual layouts of each development. Many of the pre-existing boundary treatments have been retained unchanged. The Council’s general approach during the course of the design of the scheme has been that where a section of a pre-existing boundary had to be removed/modified to facilitate the road scheme it has been modified. Boundaries not requiring adjustment as part of the construction are not interfered with. It was on this basis that the scheme was developed.
