MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott

"That this Committee discuss, with the aid of a detailed report from the Manager, the issues raised by W.O.R.K. Residents Association regarding the proposed M50 Noise Barrier No 47 at their meeting with SDCC and others on March 6th 2008 and any other relevant issues."

REPORT:

As explained at the meeting of the 6th March with the residents group the design of the barriers proposed is in accordance with the An Bord Pleanala approval. The request of the residents to lengthen the proposed barrier has been passed on to the National Roads Authority who are the Clients for this contract and as soon as the design is complete the question of extension of same will be assessed by them in terms of the additional cost involved bearing in mind the overall effect of such extra cost on the contract as a whole.
