QUESTION NO. 17
QUESTION : Councillor Marie Corr
To ask the Manager to arrange to have consistent cleanups on the Brookfield Road to include the green spaces to the front of the Brookview Estate and the adjacent halting site - this area is consistently littered and remains unmaintained for long periods of time - in addition to review the existing mounded landscaping provision at the front of St Aidan's halting site with a view to maintaining this landscaping regularly?"
REPLY:
The area in question at the Brookfield Road and adjacent open spaces is regularly maintained by the Parks Department. Regular clean ups are arranged by the Housing Department for the area around the Residential Caravan Park at St. Aidans. The mounded landscaping was originally to prevent illegal occupation of the area to the front of the site, and the Traveller accommodation Unit will review the need for this provision. This area will be regularly monitored to allow for more regular clean ups, as necessary.
The area of land around the existing site will now be examined for possible redevelopment following the completion of works on the Ring Road.
