QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane

"To ask the Manager for a report on the site of the Old Burmah Garage on Wellington Lane - planning application Curved Space, this site has been boarded up for some considerable time. Anything that can be done to expedite this development?"

REPLY:

Planning permission was granted to Curved Space Ltd. for the demolition of 1 & 2 Wellington Cottages and Filling Station and construction of 1 three storey, and 1 part 2, part 3 storey apartment buildings containing 15 two bedroom units and one three bedroom unit, with surface carpark and associated landscape works by Order dated 26/6/2007.

The Council cannot require the developer to carry out, or expedite the carrying out, of the proposed development. The developer has five years from the date of the grant of permission to carry out this development.
