QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

“To ask the Manager if he is aware of illegal dumping and waste on the green area between Verschoyle Drive and Carrigmore Apartments, Citywest, if he will take immediate action to resolve this issue and to re-instate the wooden fence on the boundary of this open space as a matter of priority, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”

REPLY:

The area in question has not yet been taken in charge by the Council.  In the interim, the Litter Warden for the area has been requested to examine the area and contact the current owners of the land to request that they address the area.  Enforcement proceedings will commence under the Litter Pollution Act, 1997  as amended if necessary if the owners fail to rectify the situation.
