MOTION NO 9.

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That this committee discusses – with the aid of a full updated report – the taking in charge of Stonepark Abbey as pertaining to the Parks Department and to state when you expect the process under section S180 will be totally finalised."

REPORT:

The taking in charge of open spaces at Stonepark Abbey is not being pursued under section S180 as this process does not give title to the land to the Council.

The developer submitted a Draft Deed of Transfer to the Parks Department in December 2007 and a recommendation for taking in charge of the open spaces at Stonepark Abbey has recently been prepared and forwarded to the Development Department for processing.  Once the documentation is verified and deemed in order by the Development Department, the Parks Department will take possession of the open spaces and put them under regular maintenance.
