MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Council facilitate the transfer of the land at the rear of Houses 2-14 Willbrook Park, Ballyboden to the owners of these households as it is waste land and derelict and suffers from rat infestation and is of little use to the Local Authority."

REPORT:

The laneway in question provides a rear access to a number of dwellings at Willbrook Park.  The Council's Environment Section has confirmed that a watermain runs through the centre of the laneway and a telemetery outstation is also positioned at this location.  Accordingly, it would not be possible to allow the laneway to be incorporated in the rear gardens of the adjoining houses.

Arrangements will be made to have the laneway inspected and cleaned as soon as possible.
