Tuesday, March 04, 2008

MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager put in place extra traffic calming at Ballyroan Crescent. Residents will now have more traffic due to now having four schools, Ballyboden St. Endas ground and the possible moving of St Colmcilles Knocklyon to the St Enda site."

REPORT:

In response to a large number of requests for traffic calming measures throughout the Council's administrative area, the Council's Transportation Strategic Policy Committee at it's meeting on 11th May, 2006 adopted a new traffic calming programme comprising of 4 schemes in each of the Council's 5 electoral areas.  The selection of each individual scheme will be made by the relevant Area Committee.

Ballyroan Crescent is on the Traffic Calming Request List for the Terenure/Rathfarnham Electoral Area.  The Terenure/Rathfarnham Area Committee are examining this list in the selection of further traffic calming schemes.

Should further development be permitted in this area any requirements for traffic calming will be considered as part of the planning process.
