QUESTION NO. 19
QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh
"To ask the Manager to examine the small stretch of road near the entrance to St. Pauls Secondary School leading into Templemanor Grove and the car parking of students from St. Pauls, which is causing traffic entering Templemanor Grove to drive on the wrong side of the road and not being able to see traffic exiting from Templemanor Grove and causing a traffic hazzard and to install a stop sign at the gate of St. Pauls as traffic is exiting from the school without stopping and an accident may happen at this spot?"
REPLY:
We have recently had a meeting with the School Principal and also have had discussions with some residents and the Gardai on the matters raised. Double yellow lines, additional signage and a yellow box are to be installed in the near future. We are also to have an additional meeting with the School Authorities to assess what extra measures, ( eg. rear access to school ,only for school employees ), which they may be in a position to implement. We shall inform the ACM of the outcome of this additional meeting.
