QUESTION NO. 11

QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

To ask the Manager if a pedestrian crossing could be provided close to the 54A bus terminus on Kiltipper Way in Tallaght, given the pedestrian activity at this location, and the substantial residential developments that have occurred in recent years, particularly in Marlfield, Ellensborough and Kiltipper Gate, and in view of the issues on pedestrian safety at this location, if this request for a pedestrian crossing could be prioritised, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

REPLY:

Kiltipper Way is not in charge at the moment.   The necessary drawings are being prepared and public notice of the Council's intention to take this road in charge will be published in April 2008.  Procedures will now be commenced with a view to examining the provision of a pedestrian crossing at this location.
