QUESTION NO 13.

QUESTION: Councillor C. King

To ask the Manager, to update the Committee on progress in terms of the change of use of the NABCO owned "Community Centre" on Donomore Park which was the subject of a motion previously and can the Manager make a statement on the matter.

REPLY:

At the Tallaght Area Committee Meeting held in January, the following report was submitted in response to the Motion on the NABCO Facility at Donomore Park:

“The Community Services Department’s Community Field Staff assist the Management Committees of Community Facilities to address difficulties/concerns that they may have.  NABCO Housing Association has not been in contact with the Community Department.  However the Community Team will meet with NABCO at their request to discuss any difficulties they may have with the management of the facility in Donomore Park, Killinarden”.

Following the above a member of the Community Services Department Field Staff met with representatives of NABCO who stated that they intended to apply for change of use, of the facility from Community type facility to housing units.

It was impressed upon them the need for immediate action.

The Community team will continue to encourage an early application to the Council and members will be kept informed of progress in this matter.
