QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

To ask the Manager to report in relation to the former Coop Lands at Leixlip Rd Lucan and if anything has been done to have the site made safe and if it is under consideration for a park and ride now that the other site has been turned down by An Bord?

REPLY:

The Co-op Lands are in private ownership, and, as such, are the responsibility of the owner(s) to maintain  in a safe manner. With regard to the Bord Pleanála decision, it is currently under consideration and proposals with regard to how South Dublin County Council should proceed will be brought to the Council for discussion in due course.

It should be noted that prior to agreeing terms with Shelbourne Developments regarding the acquisition of the Cooldrinagh lands, the Valuer had sought to acquire all/part of the Tara Co Op Site but was unable to do so due to a wide divergence of views on values and the owners development expectations for the land the subject of the Local Zoning Objective.
