QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to continue the footpath from Edmondstown National School to Rockbrook given the danger to pedestrians at this location and to also continue to connect the footpath between Airpark on Stocking Lane and the existing footpath on Stocking Lane up to Prospect Manor?"

REPLY:

The construction of a footpath from the Edmondstown National School to Rockbrook would require the acquisition of land as there is inadequate width at present in the current carriageway layout. As this is a rural road, it is not intended to construct a footpath at this time.

In relation to the provision of a footpath between Airpark and Stocking Lane, SDCC Roads Department are currently in discussions with Dublin City Council in relation to the siting of a path on their reservoir site. When this is resolved a proposal will be made available to this committee.
