COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE 1

MOTION NO. 7
MOTION: Councillor C. Keane
"That this Committee discuss the problems residents of Templeroan Lodge are experiencing trying to exit their estate due to speeding traffic on Ballyroan road (the Green route) to either exit or enter Templeroan Lodge. It is especially difficult to exit and turn right as the cars are travelling at 80km or more. The road is also used in the evening as a ‘race track’. Residents have requested a protective railing or barrier along the small hedge that separates the estate from this busy road as it would be very easy for a car to skid off the Scholarstown Roundabout into Templeroan Lodge. Also to examine if speed camera could be installed on this road."
REPORT:
We are currently examining the feasibility of the following measures as potential remedies for the above stated difficulties :-
---- Lowering of the speed limit to 50 km/hr
---- Installation of a speed camera ( To be discussed with Gardai )
---- Introducing a No-Right turn on exiting Templeroan Lodge
---- Provision of a protective railing as requested.
We expect to be able to submit a report on our findings to the next Traffic Management Meeting and will report back to the Area Committee.
