QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville
To ask the Manager, that while welcoming the recent construction and opening of the bridge adjacant to St. Dominic's School, it has come to my attention that there is a need for an additional public light at the ramp area of the bridge. Could an additional public light be placed at this location and can I also receive clarification on when a Charlie O'Toole nameplate will be erected at the bridge?
REPLY:
Following the opening of the new bridge to pedestrian traffic, an inspection was carried out by the Council's Public Lighting Section. It is proposed to provide an additional column beside the ramp side of the bridge adjacent to St. Dominics School.
The original name stone for the original Charlie O' Toole Bridge was removed some time ago prior to the commencement of development in the area and despite extensive searches, it cannot now be located. It is therefore proposed to provide a new name plate at a suitable location on the new bridge. Feedback in this regard on the matter from the local members and the general public would be welcomed prior to the ordering of the name plate.
