QUESTION NO. 6
QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren
“To ask the Manager to state the total number of Council organised clean-ups that have occurred on Daletree Road, close to the halting site located in Ballycullen, and if the Manager accepts the frustration of the entire community that as soon as the Council clean up the entire road, that within a matter of days it is strewn again with broken bottles, wandering dogs, dumped clothes etc, and if this issue has been brought to the attention of those who are involved in this kind of dumping, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”
REPLY:
Set out below are fetails of the clean ups carried out at this location since last August. This location has been a blackspot for illegal dumping for many years now and seems to be ‘used’ for that purpose both by people from the general area and by others who travel there to dump illegally. The litter warden service has focussed a lot of attention on the area, including out of hours patrols, however, there has not been any success in identifying offenders. Ths location is being considered for inclusion in CCTV surveillance scheme.
